I'm excited to meet and bond with his relatives and get to see the east coast during autumn!

Here's to safe travels for everyone!
See you on the east coast.  : )

yellow sights on mcdonald street.

Not long ago, the husband and I walked the charming streets of McDonald Ave. The neighborhood was lined with tall shady trees and old historic mansions. Movies like Scream, Shadow of a Doubt, and Pollyanna were filmed in some of the mansions, giving it a creepy but fun feel.

Wouldn't it be great to be able to afford and live in one of these houses? They have so much character and history.

Ahhh, wishful thinking.

on the bridge cafe.

Our Sunday was spent venturing around Japan Town in lovely San Francisco. Surprisingly the weather was perfect: sunny, big bright clouds, with a little autumn chill. We decided to break out of our normal routine of eating lunch at the same places so we tried out this adorable cafe, On the Bridge. I lalalalaloved it!

Everything thing from the animated decor to the delicious udon noodle soup and chicken curry was amazing. Bookshelves, filled with colorful manga, made a cozy atmosphere. Manga is a japanese word for "whimsical pictures." How beautiful is that? I loved flipping through their manga collection, even if I had no clue what the words meant.

We even played "Where's Waldo?" while we waited! Gotta love Japan Town.

There is nothing like a beautiful sunset to end a very, very long day. On my way to and from work I always look forward to my drive on Petaluma Hill Road. It's a peaceful way to begin and end the day rather than taking the backed up freeway. Autumn always brings the most breathtaking sunsets and winter brings the greenest rolling hills. Heaven.

pretty autumn displays.

I'm loving the autumn fresh, creative vibe that Whole Food's gives off. The other day I was greeted by lovely assortments of pumpkins, nuts, and flower displays that made me smile. Ryan and I already enjoy grocery shopping as it is at any given store, but I'm not going to lie, I love the farmer's market style Whole Food's creates. And those amazing apples!

kimiko, thumper, tsukiko.

Today is kimiko's and thumper's 1st birthday! They have grown up so fast over the past year!
Good thing they still act like kittens, always keeping me busy and entertained.
Their daddy and I love them so much and are so lucky to have had them
during our 1st year as a married couple.

Happy birthday to our little sweet cupcakes!

& have a lovely weekend.

twas the night of halloween.

michael jackson as a creepy angel
 fluorescent jellyfish, ryan's favorite.

On Halloween night the husband and I ventured on over to D Street in Petaluma that is well-known for its huge colonial mansions. The streets were packed with Halloweensters of all ages mainly because the people who live in these beautiful homes go all out with the parties and decor. What I loved most was seeing all the newly-parents taking their little youngsters out for their first Halloween. I remember how magical and mystical Halloween was for me back at that age and it always puts a smile on my face when I see their excited expressions.

Oh how I love Halloween.

star bellied sneetches & blue haired things.

Let me begin by just saying that my co-workers are awesome.
Here is my team dressed up as Dr. Suess characters last Friday for the kids at school.
It doesn't get much better than this.

(& oh yes, I'm the girl rocking the lopsided hairdo of Cindy Lou Whooo!)

 Cindy Lou Whoos!
I couldn't resist sharing some of my favorite Dr. Suess quotes...

“I do not like green eggs and ham I do not like them sam I am.”

“If I were invited to a dinner party with my characters, I wouldn't show up.”

“From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere.”

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.”

“A person's a person, no matter how small.”

“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”
